ABOUT US:

The A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences was founded in the year 1985 by the Nitte Education Trust with the objective of making available up-to-date training facilities to produce dental professionals and to help meet the country"s growing health care requirements. The A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences offers Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral training facilities. The Institution is a constituent unit of Nitte University and is recognised by the Dental Council of India.

The ABSM Institute of Dental Sciences is among the better equipped dental colleges in the country. All departments have state-of-the-art diagnostic and research equipments. The Institute"s commitment to maintaining the highest standards pervades all aspects of dentistry irrespective of cost or effort involved. The Institute constantly strives to upgrade its capabilities by participating in exchange programmes with national and international institutions.

LIBRARY

The college central library came into existence with the establishment of this esteemed institution and at present, is located on the 7th floor. The main objective of our library is to meet the reading and informational requirement concerning teaching, research and other academic activities whose ultimate aim is to gain more and more knowledge specialization in specific fields of dentistry. The floor area is of about 10,000 sq.ft. with a seating capacity of 200 people. The library has a collection of more than 6475 volumes and 53 national and international journals along with their back volumes. Each department maintains a departmental library with postgraduate and undergraduate reference books.

HOSTELS

With a well-equipped campus for study, research and practice, the college has adequate residential facilities. The on campus hostel accommodations are in close proximity to the college and hospital.
